Enjoy a delicious brunch while Look Both Ways plays smooth jazz. Look Both Ways is a group of talented young jazz musicians from the Kapiti Coast with Aidan Romain on keyboard, Declan Murphy on drums, Chris Campbell on double bass, Nicholas Harman on alto saxophone, and Ciaran Rountree on tenor saxophone and clarinet.
All fifteen or sixteen years old, collectively they bring decades of classical music study to their collaborations. Summer workshops at Victoria University of Wellington have nurtured their skills and fed their hunger for more jazz. They will be playing jazz standards written and made famous by the likes of Dave Brubeck, Herbie Hancock, and, of course, John Coltrane. Musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments to jam after tables have been cleared.
A fixed price menu of $45 includes bubbles (wine/beer/soda); Conductor's Quiche and winter salad or Engineer's Hot Breakfast Stack and mild chili bean compote; coffee/tea and dessert (creme brule/fruit crumble). Brunch will be served around two sets of music offered by Look Both Ways.
Doors open at 11am and the band will play its first set at 11:45am. Space is limited to 20 diners so bookings are essential.
