The 2016 and 2017 Jazz Composition of the Year winner Callum Allardice presents a set of fresh new material. Inspired by bebop, classical and pop music, filtered through a jazz approach, these new compositions will explore lush harmony, layers of rhythm and melodies that penetrate the soul. He is joined by ex-pat Sydney-based double bassist Tom Botting, who also presents a set of his original compositions. Largely inspired by places and people around New Zealand, his evocative musical landscapes paint a vivid picture of the idea of home and belonging.
