The Almost Jazz Quintet - AKA "AJQ"
The AJQ group was started by Wellington guitarist and photographer the late Al Jenkins and drummer Terry Collier around three years ago to fill a gap between those groups that play period bebop and those who create more contemporary music. After Al's far too early death last year others in the group decided to carry on and added multi instrumentalist Daryl Prowse to the line up. AJQ's set lists include an eclectic range of material from Duke Ellington to Herbie Hancock.
