Jake Baxendale and Jasmine Lovell-Smith each debut a suite of music for 10 musicians.
These two celebrated composers and saxophonists will each present a suite of music for 10 musicians as part of this Jazz Festival special edition of the Arthur Street Loft Orchestra (ASLO). Their collaboration draws on their extensive travels and musical experiences in Europe, the USA, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, a shared love of melody, experiments in form and blurring the line between the composed and the improvised.
The ASLO is a performance series that has been running Monday nights at The Third Eye since April 2018. The series presents the work of mostly local, and occasionally national and international composers, written for a variety of large ensembles.
